In a season that has already produced several jaw-dropping moments, 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has written his name into IPL history books.
The Rajasthan Royals prodigy became the first teenager ever to score 400 runs in a single IPL season.
The landmark was achieved during Rajasthan Royals' latest match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), where Sooryavanshi scored a quick 43 off 16 balls. This knock took his season tally past the 400-run mark, cementing his place as the most prolific teenage run-scorer in IPL history.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi overtakes Tilak Varma
Coming into IPL 2026 with huge expectations after an impressive 2025 debut, Sooryavanshi has exceeded all predictions. The left-handed opener has been a destructive force at the top of the order, regularly dismantling opposition bowling attacks with fearless power-hitting and remarkable maturity for his age.
Tilak Varma set the benchmark in 2022 with 368 runs as a teenager for Mumbai Indians (MI), according to cricketcountry.com. Rishabh Pant came close in 2017, scoring 366 runs for Delhi Capitals (DC). And now Vaibhav has become the first player to score 400 runs aged 19 or under in a single IPL season.
With several matches still remaining in IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi is on track to push his tally much higher. He also reclaimed the Orange Cap as he overtook Abhishek Sharma, who has so far amassed 380 runs.
