Lionel Messi continues to dominate Major League Soccer (MLS), not just on the pitch but also in the merchandise market. The Inter Miami captain has topped
the league's best-selling player jersey rankings for the fourth consecutive year, underlining his extraordinary commercial influence in American football.
According to the rankings released by MLS on November 3, Messi finished first in jersey sales for 2026, ahead of several international stars, including Son Heung-min, Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and Antoine Griezmann. The rankings are based on online sales through MLSstore.com between January 1 and October 30, 2026.
Messi, who joined Inter Miami in 2023, has maintained his position at the top of the list every year since his arrival in the United States.
Son Heung-min, representing Los Angeles FC, secured second place, while Vancouver Whitecaps' Thomas Muller finished third. Chicago Fire striker Robert Lewandowski claimed fourth position, with Antoine Griezmann of Orlando City completing the top five.
The rankings also featured young American prospect Cavan Sullivan in sixth place, followed by LAFC's Denis Bouanga in seventh. Inter Miami's Luis Suarez finished eighth, Nashville SC's Hany Mukhtar was ninth, while Rodrigo De Paul completed the top 10.
Lewandowski's Chicago Fire Jersey Makes An Impact
One of the notable developments in this year's rankings was Lewandowski's impressive merchandise performance following his move to Chicago Fire in June. Despite finishing fourth overall, his jersey became the league's best-selling shirt from the time of his arrival until the end of the reported period.
Inter Miami Dominate The Top 10
Inter Miami were also among the biggest beneficiaries, with three players featuring in the top 10. Messi, Suarez and De Paul occupied first, eighth and tenth positions respectively. Messi's commercial popularity is further strengthened by his lifetime partnership with Adidas, signed in 2017.
Although MLS has not disclosed the exact number of jerseys sold or the revenue generated, Messi's fourth consecutive triumph reinforces his enduring appeal.
