Ishan Kishan Surpasses Gautam Gambhir
Ishan Kishan's 77 runs helped him go past India's current Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir who had scored a memorable 75 runs in the 2007 T20 World Cup Final against Pakistan, which helped India win the trophy.
For nearly 19 years, Gambhir's score was one of the benchmarks. Now, Kishan has pushed him down the list.
While Kishan played beautifully, he missed out on the top record held by Virat Kohli who's magical 82 not out at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2022 remains the highest individual score by an Indian against Pakistan in T20 Internationals. Kishan also narrowly missed Kohli's other famous knock of 78 not out, scored in Colombo in 2012.
