Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh has blasted Lucknow Super Giants for omitting KL Rahul in a social media post which collaged the Indian team photos
during the England tour.
India's Test series in England ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw across five matches, with India clinching the final Test by a narrow six-run margin to level the series. Over 7,000 runs were scored, marking one of the most memorable duels in recent history.
KL Rahul excelled as an opener, amassing 532 runs at an average of 53.20-India's second-highest in England for a series, only behind Sunil Gavaskar's record. Rahul recorded two centuries, consistently anchoring India's top order and becoming the first Indian opener in 46 years to score over 500 runs in a Test series in England.
But as LSG shared a collage of many pictures of the Indian players during the England series, KL Rahul was not seen in the collection of pictures. Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant featured in multiple photos, but there was no signs of KL Rahul.
Dodda Ganesh cited the post and criticised LSG, highlighting a potential bias given his significant contribution and past role as LSG captain until 2024, when tensions with owner Sanjiv Goenka reportedly led to his exit.
"This is getting embarrassing. Couldn't get a picture of an opener who played the new ball and scored 500+ runs," he shared the LSG post with this caption.

This omission aligns with a pattern of controversy around LSG and KL Rahul, who left the franchise after tensions with owner Sanjiv Goenka. Rahul was openly reprimanded after a defeat in the IPL 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and that scarred the relationship. LSG released Rahul, ahead of IPL 2025 auction and roped in Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore.
Pant was performed superbly in the England tour as he scored 479 runs in four matches and missed out the final Test due to a fractured foot.
