New Delhi, Nov 4: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma set the field on fire at Auckland when they showed their fielding prowess against New Zealand in the first
ODI, producing two important moments of brilliance on the field.
Kohli took a diving low catch at second slip to dismiss Nathan Smith in the 29th over off a zipper from Anshul Kamboj, reducing New Zealand to 115/7. Smith went hard at a full delivery outside off stump, but managed only a thick edge. Kohli dived to his right and held on to the ball just inches above the ground. He followed it up with a 'Bow and Arrow' celebration.
Earlier in the match, Rohit played a key role in removing Daryl Mitchell during the 22nd over, helping India secure their fifth wicket. Mitchell gently pushed an Axar Patel delivery towards the leg side, but Rohit quickly moved in from mid-wicket to complete the dismissal.
A brief mix-up between the batters gave Rohit enough time to gather the ball and release a sharp underarm throw. Wicketkeeper KL Rahul reacted quickly, collecting it cleanly behind the stumps to complete the run-out.

Disciplined Indian Bowling Restrict Kiwis To 185
India produced an impressive bowling display to bundle out New Zealand for 185 in the opening ODI of the five-match series at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday. Arshdeep Singh spearheaded the attack with four wickets, while Gurnoor Brar claimed three and Anshul Kamboj picked up two.
After winning the toss, captain Shubman Gill opted to bowl, and Arshdeep provided an early breakthrough by dismissing Will Young for nine in the fifth over. He soon removed Henry Nicholls, leaving the hosts struggling.
Tim Seifert (38) and Daryl Mitchell attempted to steady the innings before Brar struck twice, dismissing Seifert and Tom Latham. Mitchell was later run out for 28 following sharp fielding from Rohit Sharma.
Kamboj further dented New Zealand's innings with two wickets, while Arshdeep dismissed Glenn Phillips for 30. Blair Tickner offered late resistance with a quickfire 34 off 23 balls, helping New Zealand reach 185 before being bowled out.
