Yashasvi Jaiswal has faced a health scare as the India batter was rushed to the hospital in Pune on Tuesday (December 16).
The star Indian player had a sudden
abdominal pain after a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 Super League match and was forced to visit the medics.
According to reports, Jaiswal started feeling discomfort during the game, and the pain intensified afterwards. He was taken to Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, where doctors diagnosed him with acute gastroenteritis.
He was given IV fluids and medication for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable, and he is under observation with advice for rest. Jaiswal has been in strong form in the tournament, including a century against Haryana just a few days earlier. He has so far scored 145 runs in the SMAT in three matches, justifying his class in the T20 format despite lack of opportunities for India in the format.
The Mumbai team management and the Mumbai Cricket Association are keeping a close watch on his recovery. There is no update yet on his availability for Mumbai's next matches in the SMAT.
The 23-year-old batsman had opened the innings for Mumbai, scoring 15 runs off 16 balls. He shared a 41-run partnership with Ajinkya Rahane before getting out. Mumbai went on to chase down Rajasthan's total of 216, winning by three wickets, thanks to Rahane's unbeaten 72 and Sarfaraz Khan's quick 73 off 22 balls. Sarfaraz had a significant day as the Mumbaikar was later sold in the IPL 2026 auction as well, as Chennai Super Kings snapped him for Rs 75 lakh.
