Left-hand batsman Nitish Rana was caught in an unusual incident when he was dismissed by Noor Ahmed off 15 runs. The incident occurred during the 10th
over of the first innings when he was facing Ahmed. Noor managed to outfox Rana as the DC batter hit the ball straight in the hands of Kartik Sharma down the leg side. However, before Kartik could take the catch, the bails had already fallen, meaning he was hit wicket.
As per the laws of the game, the hit-wicket occurred first, meaning Rana was officially given out hit wicket, even though the catch was taken. Thus, Nitish Rana became the first batter in the history of IPL history to be out in two different ways in the same delivery.

Just when Delhi appeared headed for a below-par total, Impact Player Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs combined to script a vital recovery. The duo stitched together a 65-run partnership for the sixth wicket, stabilising the innings and giving it late impetus. Stubbs scored a steady 38 off 31 balls, while Rizvi remained unbeaten on 40 off 24 deliveries, finishing the innings in style with a six off Anshul Kamboj.

Chasing 156, Chennai Super Kings began cautiously but kept the required rate under control. They reached 85/2 after 11.2 overs, with contributions at the top helping them stay on track.
