Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are reportedly closing in on a multi-player trade ahead of the IPL 2027 auction, with as many as three
or four players potentially involved in the deal. While the two franchises have reportedly agreed to the proposal in principle, the identities of the players remain undisclosed.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Rajasthan Royals are keen to strengthen their pace attack by acquiring a fast bowler who enjoyed a successful campaign with Lucknow Super Giants last season.
A spinner from the LSG squad could also be included in the negotiations, with the franchise seemingly willing to part ways with some of its bowling resources to address its batting concerns.
Mohammed Shami, M Siddharth emerge as possible LSG candidates
Mohammed Shami could be one of the names to watch in the proposed deal. The experienced Indian pacer offers considerable quality and experience, and his availability could appeal to Rajasthan as they look to strengthen their pace-bowling department.
M Siddharth is another possible candidate from the Lucknow camp. The left-arm spinner could provide Rajasthan with an additional spin option, although his involvement remains speculative.
Ravi Bishnoi, meanwhile, is another name that could come into the discussion given his association with LSG. However, he appears to be an unlikely candidate for this particular trade at this stage.
Donovan Ferreira and Sam Curran among possible RR departures
On the Rajasthan Royals' side, Donovan Ferreira and Sam Curran are two names that could potentially feature in the discussions, although there is no confirmation that either player is part of the proposed exchange.
Ferreira's ability to contribute as a middle-order batter and finisher makes him an interesting option for Lucknow, who are reportedly looking to improve their batting resources. His power-hitting could offer LSG additional flexibility in the lower middle order.
Curran is another speculative possibility. The England all-rounder brings experience with both bat and ball, and his inclusion could give Lucknow an additional overseas option. However, his contract value and overseas status could make such a trade more complicated.
With RR possessing several batting and all-rounding options, the franchise could be willing to sacrifice one or two players to acquire the bowling reinforcements it wants. Shubham Dubey is also one of the players who may well be considered for a trade move.
