The Women's Premier League has stepped into its fourth edition, marking a new chapter in India's flagship women's T20 tournament. The 2026 season began
on January 9 and will conclude with the final scheduled for February 5.
Five teams are battling for the title this year - Mumbai Indians Women, Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women, Delhi Capitals Women, Gujarat Giants Women, and UP Warriorz Women. The competition continues to showcase the growing depth and quality of women's cricket in India, with each season raising the level of intensity and performance across the league.
WPL 2026 Tournament Overview and Preview Format
Double round-robin league stage (each team plays 8 matches), followed by playoffs. The top team advances directly to the final, while the second and third-placed teams contest the Eliminator for a spot in the summit clash.
Total Matches: 22 league games + Eliminator + Final.
Venues: The first leg (first 11 matches, January 9-17) is at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. The action then shifts to Baroda Cricket Association Stadium (Kotambi Stadium), Vadodara, for the remaining league matches, Eliminator (February 3), and Final (February 5).
