A viral "official" letter claiming Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lodged a complaint with the BCCI over alleged black magic and voodoo rituals by Sunrisers
Hyderabad (SRH) fans.
The document is a photoshopped meme created for cricket banter. On April 18, 2026, SRH hosted CSK in IPL 2026 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
SRH posted a competitive 194/9 in 20 overs. CSK, chasing 195, managed 184/8 and lost by 10 runs. Eshan Malinga was Player of the Match for his crucial 3/29 spell that restricted CSK in the death overs. The defeat left CSK at the lower half of the points table, adding to fan frustration after a high-stakes chase fell short.
SRH vs CSK: The Viral 'Lemon Ritual' Video
The fake complaint gained traction after a video from the stands went viral. In the 17th over, with CSK at 154/7 and Shivam Dube at the crease, an SRH supporter was filmed holding a lemon, rotating it dramatically while muttering and gesturing toward Dube. Seconds later, Dube was bowled by Sakib Hussain. The video quickly spread to social media and went viral.
Fact Check: Did CSK complaint to BCCI over alleged Black Magic?
The timing triggered a flood of "black magic" memes across social media, with fans joking that the ritual sealed the wicket.

After that, a letter's image has been circulating on social media, which says the Super Kings decided to lodge a complaint to BCCI over the incident.
The photoshopped notice, shared widely on X, claimed CSK was "deeply concerned" about "unnatural and supernatural practices" affecting their players. It referenced repeated "disturbing incidents" of occult rituals.
However, no such letter exists. CSK and the BCCI have issued no statements on the matter. MyKhel can confirm the letter is a photoshopped image, and has no authenticity to it. The letter is a fake one, likely poking fun at CSK's earlier genuine complaint about "derogatory" DJ songs during an RCB match.
