Real Madrid secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Tirol in a pre-season match, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice. The game began energetically for Madrid as Arda
Guler hit the post just eight minutes in. Adam Stejskal then made an impressive double save to deny Aurelien Tchouameni and the Turkish international. Shortly after, Eder Militao opened the scoring by heading in Brahim Diaz's cross.
Mbappe quickly doubled Madrid's advantage three minutes after Militao's goal. He expertly met Guler's pass and fired a powerful shot into the net. In the second half, Guler again hit the woodwork early on, but Mbappe extended their lead further in the 59th minute. Tchouameni's through ball set up Mbappe, who skillfully rounded the goalkeeper before scoring from a tight angle.
Tobias Anselm had Tirol’s only significant attempt saved comfortably in the 69th minute. However, Madrid remained efficient in front of goal. Mbappe assisted Rodrygo in the 81st minute, who then found the bottom corner to seal their win. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich also triumphed over Grasshoppers with goals from Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
Mbappe continues to shine following his record-breaking debut season at Madrid in 2024-25. He appears eager for more success as the new season approaches. Against Tirol, Madrid generated 3.5 expected goals (xG) compared to Tirol’s 0.41 and took 14 shots overall. Mbappe contributed significantly with three shots worth 2.0 xG and created three chances alongside an assist.
Only Arda Guler surpassed Mbappe’s performance by creating four chances and attempting four shots, two of which struck the crossbar. Real Madrid seems well-prepared offensively as they gear up for their LaLiga opener against Osasuna on August 19.
