Super Over 1
Afghanistan batted first in the opening Super Over after the score was tied at 187 after regulation play with Lungi Ngidi taking charge for South Africa. Azmatullah Omarzai immediately put pressure on the Proteas by squeezing a low full toss for four through the off-side. He continued to attack, smashing a slower off-cutter over long-off for a towering six. South Africa managed to pull things back slightly with tighter lines, but Afghanistan still managed to post a competitive 17 runs in their six balls, setting a challenging target.

South Africa's reply began with Fazalhaq Farooqi bowling the Super Over. David Miller got the innings underway but could only manage a single from a full toss. Dewald Brevis then ignited hopes for South Africa with a sensational 97-metre pull shot for six. However, Farooqi struck back with a clever slower bouncer that deceived Brevis, leading to his dismissal. With pressure mounting, Tristan Stubbs found fortune and timing. A bottom-edged boundary off a yorker kept South Africa alive before he launched a stunning six off a low full toss on the final delivery. His fearless strike ensured South Africa matched Afghanistan's 17 runs, forcing a rare second Super Over.
Super Over 2
With fresh tension gripping both teams, South Africa batted first in the decisive tie-breaker against Omarzai. Stubbs wasted no time, hammering a slower delivery over deep mid-wicket for six. Miller then took control, smashing consecutive sixes - one dispatched over deep mid-wicket and another muscled over backward square leg off a dipping full toss. Smart running between the wickets added valuable runs as South Africa finished strongly with an imposing 23-run total.

Afghanistan's hopes rested heavily on Rahmanullah Gurbaz as Keshav Maharaj bowled the final Super Over. The spinner started brilliantly when Nabi mistimed a wide delivery, resulting in a superb catch by Miller. With Afghanistan struggling initially, Gurbaz produced a breathtaking counterattack. He smashed three consecutive sixes - clearing long-off, deep mid-wicket, and long-off again - bringing Afghanistan remarkably close to pulling off a miracle.
However, Maharaj held his composure under intense pressure, dismissing Gurbaz on the final delivery and ensuring Afghanistan finished three runs short. South Africa eventually emerged victorious after a pulsating contest that will be remembered as one of the greatest finishes in T20 World Cup history.
