India U19 captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his remarkable rise in age-group cricket with a stunning 63-ball century in the third Youth ODI against
South Africa at Willowmoore Park, Benoni.
The 14-year-old left-hander produced a breathtaking display of power-hitting, smashing 127 off just 74 deliveries, an innings laced with nine fours and ten towering sixes. His knock left the home side shell-shocked and set India on course for a massive total.
Opening the innings with Aaron George, Suryavanshi wasted no time asserting dominance. The duo piled on runs at will, cruising past the 200-run mark in under 25 overs. Their first-wicket stand of 227 runs in 25.4 overs completely deflated the South African attack and positioned India for a score well beyond 350 in the allotted 50 overs.
For Suryavanshi, this innings marks his third century in Youth ODIs and the ninth of his young career across formats. Since bursting onto the international scene, the teenage sensation has already notched centuries in five different countries-India, UAE, Australia, England, and now South Africa. His ability to adapt to conditions worldwide at such a young age has made him one of the most exciting prospects in world cricket.
Suryavanshi's Youth ODI numbers underline his growing stature: 973 runs in 18 innings, averaging 57.23 with a staggering strike rate of 164.35, including three hundreds and four fifties. He has also recorded centuries in Youth Tests, List A cricket, and T20s, including a memorable ton for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

While the cricketing action was electric on the field, viewers initially struggled to catch it live. The match was not available for television broadcast after Star Sports, which was scheduled to telecast the series, encountered technical issues and had to withdraw the feed. Fortunately, Cricket South Africa stepped in, making the match available on the CSA YouTube channel, where fans quickly flocked to watch the rising star.
When Suryavanshi reached his three-figure mark, the live stream's viewership surged to 84,000 concurrent viewers, all tuned in to witness the young prodigy dismantle the South African attack in spectacular fashion.
With the U19 World Cup beginning on January 15, Suryavanshi's scintillating form comes as a massive boost for India, who will rely heavily on their teenage captain's explosive talent.
