When will India vs Pakistan be played in Women's T20 World Cup?
The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan encounter in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled for Sunday 14 June at Edgbaston, Birmingham, with the match starting at 14:30 BST (19:00 IST).
This fixture not only kicks off India's campaign but also sets the tone for what promises to be a historic summer of women's cricket on English soil.
This Group 1 fixture will be India's opening match of the tournament and marks one of the earliest high-profile clashes. Edgbaston, known for its electric atmosphere and passionate crowds, is expected to be packed for the contest between the two traditional rivals. Both teams enter the tournament with strong pedigrees. India, a consistent semi-finalist in recent editions, will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur and boast a squad full of T20 specialists. Pakistan, under their experienced core, will look to upset the favourites and make a statement early in the competition.
Following this clash, India continue with Netherlands (17 June, Headingley), South Africa (21 June, Old Trafford), Bangladesh (25 June, Old Trafford) and Australia (28 June, Lord's). The top two teams from Group 1 advance to the semi-finals at The Oval.
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta and Tournament Director Beth Barrett-Wild have emphasised that the 2026 edition will build on the record-breaking success of previous women's World Cups, with heightened media coverage and fan engagement.
