was treated at the field amid the horrible injury, and was subsequently taken to the hospital.
DC vs PBKS: What Happened to Lungi Ngidi?
While fielding (attempting a catch on a skier), Ngidi landed awkwardly and badly on his head on the hard outfield. He stayed down, showing signs of distress. Medical staff (physio and doctor) attended to him immediately. A stretcher was brought out, and he received further assessment, including suggestions for a neck brace. An ambulance entered the ground to take him to the hospital.
Injury Update: How is Lungi Ngidi Now?
Ngidi was stretchered off and transported by ambulance. He appeared responsive to the medical team but was unable to get up or move freely on his own.
In the evening, the IPL has provided the latest update on the pacer's health status. The South African pacer is stable and will be discharged from the hospital shortly, as it was confirmed by IPL.
"Lungisani Ngidi of Delhi Capitals hit his head on the ground while attempting to take a catch during his team's match against Punjab Kings. He was shifted to the hospital in an ambulance as he complained of a headache and neck pain. Ngidi is stable and is due to be discharged shortly from the hospital," a statement from IPL read.
Sahil Parakh was injured on Friday
This is the 2nd day in a row when an ambulance arrived inside the Arun Jaitley pitch. On Friday, Delhi Capitals youngster Sahil Parakh was hit by a ball during practice and was taken to the hospital as well.
Concussion Sub
Vipraj Nigam has been brought in by Delhi Capitals as a Concussion Sub, which means Nigam will be able to bowl in this match.
