Rishabh Pant set social media buzzing after dropping an F-bomb during the post-match presentations following the LSG vs RR clash. The left-hander called
the Lucknow Super Giants "a fu****g good team" despite another defeat in IPL 2026. The comment came as Pant spoke to commentator Ian Bishop following LSG's 9th defeat of the season, which left the franchise anchored at tenth place.
The outburst capped a tough period for both Pant and Lucknow Super Giants this season. LSG, who finished seventh in 2025, have slipped further in IPL 2026 and now sit tenth after suffering their ninth defeat. Pant has also faced scrutiny for batting returns and for several tactical calls as captain.
'A Fu****G Good Team' Rishabh Pant Defends LSG's Struggling IPL 2026
During the post-match discussion in Jaipur after the clash against Rajasthan Royals, Bishop asked Pant what the captain made of a side struggling near the foot of the table. Pant defended the squad's quality and spirit before finishing with the now-viral line about LSG being "a fu****g good team".
Pant said, "We are proud as a team regardless of what our situation is right now. The kind of team we have, we know we can win this. Regardless of anything, we are confident enough as a team and as individuals. It hasn't gone our way, and everyone knows that, but that doesn't take away the fact that we are a fu****g good team. "

The tense exchange followed an earlier awkward moment between Bishop and Pant before the match in Jaipur. In that pre-game chat, Pant appeared confused when Bishop raised issues around player availability and form, including a reference to Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan, and briefly seemed unsure what the broadcaster was asking.
On the tactical front, Pant again drew attention for how LSG used left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan against the Rajasthan Royals. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi advanced to the high 80s before Mohsin was brought back for a third over. Mohsin eventually dismissed Sooryavanshi, raising fresh debate over the timing of bowling changes.
Rishabh Pant Hints At 'Several Voices' Within LSG Camp
Pant has hinted more than once that decision-making has been complicated by several "voices around the team. "It's definitely a difficult one for sure because you always want to back your bowlers, but sometimes it's hard," Pant said when asked about his bowling plans and frequent field changes during this campaign.
Pant added, "On a wicket like this, there is less margin for the bowlers, and having too many suggestions doesn't work out. Sometimes you have to keep a simple plan, keep focusing one ball at a time, and just try to execute the plan. " LSG now prepares for their final IPL 2026 league game against the Punjab Kings on May 23.
