The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has picked up the India squads for the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies.
Rohit Sharma and
Virat Kohli both return to the ODI side, as Shubman Gill is set to captain the team. Amid the absentees for Asian Games, a number of players have been drafted into the ODI squad.
Auqib Nabi has been picked up for the ODIs, while Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant have not found a place in either squad. KL Rahul has also been appointed as the vice-captain for ODIs, while Ravindra Jadeja is picked for ODI team as well.
The series begins on September 27 and runs until October 17, with matches spread across eight venues. The ODI leg will be particularly significant for India as preparations continue towards the 2027 ODI World Cup.
The three ODIs will be played in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati and New Chandigarh on September 27, September 30 and October 3 respectively. The five-match T20I series will then move to Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with the matches scheduled for October 6, 9, 11, 14 and 17.
It is also set to be the final selection call for Ajit Agarkar as the chairman of BCCI selectors. The former India bowler's tenure won't be extended, which expires on October 4.
