The BCCI has decided to allow Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's parents to travel with him during India's upcoming tour of Ireland and England, recognising the unique
challenges facing the 15-year-old as he prepares for his first assignment with the senior national team.
The decision comes just days after Sooryavanshi became the youngest player ever selected in an Indian men's squad, breaking a 36-year-old record previously held by Sachin Tendulkar.
According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, the board believes family support will be crucial as the teenager adapts to life on the international circuit.
"As he is a child, we have decided to allow his parents to accompany him to Ireland and England, so that they can be with him and help him settle in the new environment. The Board will cover all their expenses," Saikia told Sportstar.
