England move within reach of the Brazil World Cup as Sarina Wiegman names a 25-player squad for June qualifiers against Spain and Ukraine, with a draw against Spain on 5 June in Majorca enough to seal progression.
The Lionesses top League A Group 3 after four wins from four and face current world champions Spain first, before meeting Ukraine at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium on 9 June, knowing two results remain available to confirm their place in Brazil.
Wiegman recalls Ella Toone, Aggie Beever-Jones and Lucy Bronze for the England World Cup qualifiers, with all three returning after injuries, while several younger players from the previous camp miss out as competition for places intensifies ahead of the summer tournament.
Manchester United
midfielder Toone features in an England squad for the first time since November, having recovered from a hip problem that ruled Toone out for most of the season's second half, although Toone played in United's final two Women's Super League matches.
Beever-Jones, who scored four goals in 17 Women's Super League appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, missed the April camp along with London City Lionesses forward Freya Godfrey, but both now return, while Bronze is selected despite missing Chelsea's 1-0 victory over Manchester United and recently wearing a protective boot.
There is no second senior call-up for teenager Erica Meg Parkinson, who had been a surprise inclusion in the most recent squad, and Everton defender Ruby Mace is also absent, underlining that places remain highly contested as Wiegman prioritises experienced options for these decisive fixtures.
Explaining England's mindset for the World Cup qualifiers, Wiegman said: "We'reapproaching it as we have an opportunity to qualify for the World Cup, and we know what the scenarios are, and wewant to go out there and play to win. We know how it stands. If we win, or we tie, then we qualify after the first game, but even if we don't, there's still a chance in the Ukraine game. And if that isn't the case, then we have a chance to qualify in the autumn, so that's the factual situation. "

The England World Cup qualifiers squad features three goalkeepers, eleven defenders, seven midfielders and eight forwards, with club representation stretching across Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Orlando Pride, Washington Spirit, Gotham and London City Lionesses.
The full England World Cup qualifiers list includes Hannah Hampton, Anna Moorhouse, Ellie Roebuck, Lucy Bronze, Jess Carter, Niamh Charles, Alex Greenwood, Lotte Wubben-Moy, Maya Le Tissier, Esme Morgan, Taylor Hinds, Leah Williamson, Laura Blindkilde Brown, Lucia Kendall, Jess Park, Georgia Stanway, Ella Toone, Keira Walsh, Aggie Beever-Jones, Chloe Kelly, Lauren James, Alessia Russo, Lauren Hemp, Freya Godfrey, Jess Park and Beth Mead, matching Wiegman's announced group.
The shape of this England World Cup qualifiers squad shows Wiegman leaning on established players returning from injury, while still giving opportunities to developing talents like Godfrey, with two matches in June, and a possible autumn route, offering England several clear pathways towards securing a place at the Brazil tournament.
