Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's explosive rise has redefined what a teenager can achieve in the IPL. At just 14 in 2025 and now 15 in 2026, the Rajasthan Royals prodigy has shattered records with a 35-ball century, the youngest T20 hundred, and the fastest 1,000 T20 runs.
But who was the last teenager to truly capture the imagination before him? That honour goes to Manish Pandey in 2009. At 19 years and 253 days, the RCB batter became the youngest centurion in IPL history at the time - a record that stood untouched for 16 years until Vaibhav broke it.

Manish Pandey (RCB, 2009) - Aged 19
Top performance: 114* off 73 balls vs Deccan Chargers in Centurion. The innings featured
clean striking and composure under pressure, helping RCB post a competitive total in the tournament's second season. It remains one of the most memorable teenage knocks in IPL lore.
Prithvi Shaw (Delhi Daredevils, 2018) - Aged 18
Top performance: Explosive cameos in the powerplay, including a rapid 52 off 38 on debut. Shaw announced himself as a fearless opener, blending classical shots with aggressive intent and finishing the season as one of the most exciting young talents.
Since then, Prithvi Shaw had a successful stint with Delhi Capitals, but over the last two years, he has struggled to get a game.
Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals, 2019) - Aged 17
Top performance: Quickfire contributions in the middle order, highlighted by a crucial 47* that showcased his finishing ability. Parag's confidence and big-hitting potential under the RR banner marked him as a future star.
Riyan Parag had a decent start but has failed to make his mark significantly. He currently captains Rajasthan Royals but has been inconsistent with the bat.
Washington Sundar (Rising Pune Supergiant, 2017) - Aged 17
Top performance: Economical spin spells and handy lower-order batting, including key wickets against top-order batters. His all-round utility at such a young age made him a valuable asset in a star-studded squad.
Washington Sundar played a key part for RPS and since has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and now plays for Gujarat Titans. He has played 74 matches, with 40 wickets and 1150 runs to his name.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has taken teenage brilliance to another level, but these four players proved long ago that age is just a number when talent is this special.
