Roma closed the gap on the Serie A top four with a commanding 4-0 victory over Fiorentina, moving one point behind Juventus and three behind AC Milan, as Niccolo Pisilli produced a standout all-round display in front of the home support.
The match statistics underline Roma’s control. Roma generated 2.14 expected goals from 14 attempts, while Fiorentina managed only 0.16 xG from four shots. Roma also extended an impressive unbeaten league run at home, strengthening hopes of a return to the Champions League places.
Roma’s first-half performance settled the contest. Gianluca Mancini struck first after 13 minutes, meeting Niccolo Pisilli’s corner with a powerful header. Fiorentina struggled to respond as Roma pressed high, passed with accuracy and
turned early pressure into a three-goal lead before half-time.
Wesley added the second goal with a precise curling finish into the bottom-right corner after a well-timed lay-off from Mario Hermoso. Hermoso then attacked the near post with striker-like movement, converting Manu Kone’s driven cross from close range to make it 3-0 by the 34th minute.
After the interval, Fiorentina briefly threatened when Riccardo Braschi hit the woodwork, but Roma quickly regained control. Pisilli completed the scoring shortly before the hour, heading in off the post from a trivela cross by Donyell Malen, who had earlier gone close with a deflected effort.
Pisilli’s impact went beyond the goal and assist. The 21-year-old registered a match-high 101 touches and completed 76 accurate passes. Pisilli also regained possession seven times, joint-most in the game, and finished with three interceptions, again level with the leading figure.
