Raj Kundra, along with his wife Shilpa Shetty, acquired an 11.7% stake in Rajasthan Royals in 2009. His involvement ended amid the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, leading to a lifetime ban from the BCCI and the franchise's two-year suspension. The couple exited their stake in 2015.
Kundra has since been locked in a prolonged legal battle with the franchise's promoters, primarily Manoj Badale's Emerging Media Ventures.
