In a momentous achievement for Indian cricket, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana crossed the 10,000-run mark in international cricket on December 28, 2025, during the fourth T20I against Sri Lanka in Mumbai.
The elegant left-handed opener, needing just 42 runs to reach the milestone based on her pre-match tally of 9,958 runs, accomplished the feat in style, becoming only the fourth woman in history to enter this elite club.
Mandhana joined legends like Mithali Raj, Suzie Bates, and Charlotte Edwards, who have all aggregated a five-figure score in their career. Former India women's captain Mithali Raj holds the record of most runs in women's cricket.
