Chennai Super Kings spinner Noor Ahmad secured a milestone moment of his IPL career on Tuesday (April 14) in the IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The Afghanistan player got the crucial wicket of KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, thus picking up his 50th career scalp in the tournament.
Noor Ahmad, the Afghan left-arm wrist-spinner, made his IPL debut in 2023 with Gujarat Titans. In his maiden season, the 18-year-old picked up 16 wickets in 13 matches at an economy of 7.82, playing a vital role in GT's journey to the final.
He had a quieter 2024 with GT (8 wickets in 10 games), before Chennai Super Kings acquired him for ₹10 crore ahead of 2025. Noor delivered a breakout performance, claiming 24 wickets in 14 matches, including a sensational
4/18 against Mumbai Indians, finishing as CSK's leading wicket-taker and second-highest overall in the tournament.

With the CSK, the 20-year-old Afghan star has been top-notch as well. In the ongoing match against KKR, he got his 50th wicket with Rahane, thus becoming only the 2nd Afghan to reach the milestone behind Rashid Khan. Noor enhanced his tally of wickets in the very next delivery, as he cleaned up Cameron Green.
