Chennai Singams captured their first Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) crown on Friday (February 6), overpowering Tiigers of Kolkata by 29 runs in the ISPL 2026 final at Surat's Lalbhai Contractor Stadium.
Singams' captain Ankur Singh won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Mhatre and Jagannath Sarkar set an aggressive tone.
Sarkar survived a dropped catch in the opening over, but Mhatre exploded for 28 runs in the second. Powerplay ended at 34/0. Sarkar fell for 14 soon after, yet Mhatre pressed on. In the pivotal 50-50 over, Tiigers' Saroj Pramanik struck twice early, but Sarfaraz Khan's vital six pushed Singams to 10 runs that over. Mhatre top-scored with 30 off 16 balls, Sarfaraz added 20 off 11, Ganesh fired boundaries late, and
Sambhaji smashed a huge nine. Singams finished at 103/7 in 10 overs.
Tiigers' chase faltered early. Openers Rajat Mundhe and Saroj Pramanik managed just 19 in the first two overs. Sarkar broke through in the swing-ball over, dismissing Pramanik for 11. Kiran followed for 2 as Chennai's attack tightened the screws-Tiigers reached just 25/2 after four overs.
Ankur Singh bowled the 50-50 over, conceding 14 but claiming Rajat's wicket. Krushna Gawali fell next, brilliantly caught by Sarkar in the deep. Ankur then removed Bhavesh Pawar, and Saif Ali managed only 1. Arish Khan fought valiantly with 25 off 9 balls, but Tiigers collapsed to 74/9 in 10 overs.
