Delhi Capitals have handed an IPL debut to youngster Sahil Parakh for the IPL 2026 match today (April 27) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Delhi, who lost the last match despite scoring 264 runs, have gone for three changes for the RCB encounter and Parakh is one of them, as the others are New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson and Sri Lanka's Dushmantha Chameera.
Who is Sahil Parakh?
Sahil Parakh is an 18-year-old Indian cricketer, born June 7, 2007, in Nashik, Maharashtra, a promising left-handed opening batter and part-time leg-break bowler. He was bought by DC for Rs 30 lakh in the auction and has represented Maharashtra domestically, Eagle Nashik Titans in the Maharashtra Premier League.
Parakh began in school and age-group cricket for Maharashtra, excelling in interschool
tournaments with consistent runs and wickets. He progressed to Maharashtra's Under-19 team, establishing himself as a reliable top-order batsman and part-time bowler.
The 18-year-old scored has played 2 matches for Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Kolkata and has 24 runs to his name. In 2024, the youngster scored a fantastic 109 for India U19s against Australia.
Sahil Parakh suffered an Injury during IPL 2026
Just a couple of days ago, Sahil was injured while batting during a practice session when the ball hit his face. The players was taken to the hospital and since has recovered and his fit to play this match against RCB.
