SRH IPL 2026 Retention: 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad have made a quite a few routine decisions in their retention list and will be looking to make their presence felt when they enter the auction on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
Just like most of the teams, SRH have retained their core squad, which includes captain Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Reddy.
Among them, Ishan Kishan didn't have the best of seasons but the management has relied on the wicket-keeper once again to show regular results. All these retentions were on expected line and Kavya Maran and co knows what to do.
As far as the released players are concerned, SRH have done a smart job in trimming the ones which cannot be the part of the system.
Names like Adam Zampa, Rahul Chahar, Wiaan Mulder and Abhinav Manohar are few of the notable names, who all failed to make it to the list. The Orange Army didn't go after any trade deals but let go off Mohammed Shami to Lucknow Super Giants, someone who missed majority of the season due to injuries and the management feels that they should look for an alternative in the auction.
So, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have a decent 25.50 crore in their purse and first things first, they will be looking to replace Mohammed Shami and bring in new faces, especially down the order. The Hyderabad side have the third-most expensive purse in the upcoming auction.
