Helmut Marko, a key figure at Red Bull, has decided to part ways with the team after more than two decades. He joined as an advisor when Red Bull entered Formula One in 2005 and took on a similar role with Toro Rosso in 2006. His contributions were instrumental in securing six Constructors' Championships and eight Drivers' Championships for the team.
Marko's influence was crucial in retaining Max Verstappen amid speculation about his future. Verstappen, who regards Marko as a father figure, narrowly missed out on a fifth consecutive title to McLaren's Lando Norris in 2025. This outcome influenced Marko's decision to step down.
The 82-year-old advisor played a pivotal role in Red Bull's success, guiding them through numerous victories. Under his
guidance, drivers like Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel each claimed four championship titles. Marko expressed immense pride in what the team accomplished together over the years.
"I have been involved in motorsport for six decades now, and the past 20-plus years at Red Bull have been an extraordinary and extremely successful journey," said Marko. His statement reflects his deep connection to the sport and the team.

Marko shared that his time with Red Bull was filled with memorable moments and achievements alongside talented individuals. "It has been a wonderful time that I have been able to help shape and share with so many talented people," he remarked.
The recent loss of the world championship deeply affected him, prompting his decision to conclude this chapter of his career. He remains optimistic about Red Bull's future prospects in Formula One.
Marko conveyed his best wishes to the team for continued success. He is confident they will remain strong contenders for world championship titles in the coming season.
