Ivan Toney produced a ruthless hat-trick and an assist as Al-Ahli defeated Al-Ettifaq 4-0 in the Saudi Pro League, with the England forward driving a dominant display that strengthened the hosts’ title
push and thrilled home supporters.
The victory lifted Al-Ahli into second place, two points behind leaders Al-Hilal, who still have a game in hand, while Al-Ettifaq stayed seventh as Toney moved clear on top of the scoring chart and extended a prolific personal run.
Al-Ahli’s pressure told early when Edouard Mendy launched a long pass that Riyad Mahrez controlled expertly, before Mahrez unselfishly squared across goal in the 17th minute for Toney, who finished from close range to open the scoring for the hosts.
The second goal arrived after Jack Hendry brought down Galeno on the left side of the penalty area, the defender clattering through the winger, and Toney calmly rolled the resulting spot-kick into the bottom-left corner, sending Al-Ahli into full control of the contest.
Toney might have completed his hat-trick before the interval but lifted a presentable chance over from inside the box, and later responded by showing strength to hold off two defenders and find Valentin Atangana, who struck from distance after 64 minutes for Al-Ahli’s third.
The scoring finished when Mohammed Abdulrahman was tripped carelessly by Francisco Calvo in the penalty area, giving Toney another opportunity from twelve yards, and the striker again chose the left-hand side, completing his treble and sealing a comprehensive 4-0 success.

Toney now has 18 league goals, sits first in the scoring list and has found the net in each of the last eight Pro League matches, scoring 13 times in that sequence, while Al-Ahli have won eight consecutive league fixtures during this surge.
The forward registered a game-high six shots against Al-Ettifaq and now has four league assists, sharing Al-Ahli’s team lead in that category with Mahrez, underlining a broader creative role that has supported the club’s climb into serious contention.
