It has been a historic season for Arsenal. Fresh off their glorious Premier League title-winning campaign, the celebrations are far from over. The squad is currently gearing up for their ultimate test: a highly anticipated UEFA Champions League final clash against French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
However, even as Mikel Arteta's men prepare for the biggest match in European football, the club's hierarchy is already making major decisions regarding the summer transfer window. At the center of these discussions is the future of their 29-year-old Brazilian striker, Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal Set £20m Price Tag for Jesus
Despite his contributions to the club's recent success, Arsenal is prepared to let Gabriel Jesus leave this summer if their valuation is met. The newly crowned Premier
League champions will demand up to £20million for the striker. Multiple clubs have already enquired about the player's situation ahead of the summer window, with Arsenal quoting prospective buyers a fee between £18m ($24.1m) and £20m ($26.8m).
Jesus currently has 12 months remaining on his contract, which is set to expire in June 2027. While he will be available on a free transfer at that time, it is understood that Arsenal has no intention of selling the vastly experienced forward cheaply before then.
For Jesus, this season brought the joy of winning his fifth English top-flight title, but it was also a deeply frustrating individual campaign. After returning to action in December, he managed to score six goals in 27 appearances, which included scoring the opening goal in Arsenal's 2-1 final-day victory over Crystal Palace. However, Jesus has steadily slipped down Arsenal's striking pecking order, finding himself behind Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.
Gabriel Jesus arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2022, following manager Mikel Arteta from Manchester City. Across his four seasons at the Emirates, the versatile forward has impressively registered 32 goals and 22 assists in 123 games, despite battling serious knee injuries.
As Arsenal looks to conquer Europe in their Champions League final against PSG, the summer will present a significant crossroads for Gabriel Jesus. Whether a rival club meets the £20m asking price or the Brazilian stays to finish his "unfinished business," his impact in helping build Arteta's title-winning machine remains undeniable.
