Amid this, the Indian cricket season is underway with the Ranji Trophy. As the 4th round matches are being played, former Kolkata Knight Riders player Shivam Mavi has scored a stellar century for Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
In their Elite match against Nagaland, Mavi scored an unbeaten 101 off just 87 deliveries. The India pacer hit 10 fours and 5 sixes in his knock, propelling UP to a mammoth score of 535 runs in the first innings. Apart from Mavi, Madhav Kaushik (185) and Aryan Juyal (140) also scored centuries for the team.
Who is Shivam Mavi?
Shivam Mavi is an Indian cricketer known for his sharp pace and disciplined bowling. Born on November 26, 1998, in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, he rose to prominence during the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where India lifted the trophy under Prithvi Shaw's captaincy.
A right-arm fast bowler capable of swinging the ball both ways, Mavi soon caught the attention of IPL franchises and made his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite battling multiple injuries, Mavi showcased resilience and continued to improve his fitness and consistency.
