FC Barcelona are tipped to make a return to their original stadium Camp Nou soon. After a long wait of more than two and a half years, FC Barcelona will officially return to the Spotify Camp Nou for their first
match at the renovated stadium on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The team will face Athletic Club in a La Liga match scheduled in the afternoon and the Blaugranas will be taking the field at their colosseum again.. This announcement follows the club receiving the first occupancy license corresponding to Phase 1B of the stadium's redevelopment, which increases the capacity to 45,401 spectators.
The club released a statement confirming the move, stating, "FC Barcelona informs that the match corresponding to matchday 13 of the League, against Athletic Club, scheduled for Saturday, November 22 at 16:15 hours, will finally be played at Spotify Camp Nou. "
"This decision comes after obtaining the first occupancy license corresponding to Phase 1B, which allows increasing the capacity up to 45,401 spectators. This authorization includes the entire Lateral area and adds to the license already granted for Phase 1A, which covers the Tribune and South Goal," the statement added.
The club continues to work on Phase 1C to enable full activity in the North Goal with all necessary operational, security, and comfort conditions for fans and members. Regarding UEFA Champions League matches, the club is coordinating with UEFA to host games, including the potential match against Eintracht Frankfurt at Spotify Camp Nou, awaiting final confirmation.
The Spanish giants were playing their matches at the Estadi Lluis Companys for the last couple of years, and won the La Liga title last season. With a return to the renovated Camp Nou, Barcelona can expect to recreate history this season.
