Paris Saint-Germain opened 2026 with a 2-1 derby victory against Paris FC at Parc des Princes, keeping Luis Enrique’s side close to the Ligue 1 summit and strengthening hopes of repeating their huge 2025-26 trophy collection as PSG continue to chase silverware on multiple fronts.
Ousmane Dembele struck the winner with a deflected effort in the 53rd minute, after Desire Doue’s composed finish just before half-time was cancelled out by Willem Geubbels’ penalty early in the second period, leaving PSG one point behind Ligue 1 leaders Lens after another tight contest in the capital.
PSG already hold the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup for the 2025-26 campaign, having ended 2025 as only the second European club to claim six trophies in a single
calendar year, matching Barcelona’s 2009 achievement and setting the standard Luis Enrique now wants to match again.
Last year brought Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, the Trophee des Champions and a first Champions League title for PSG, and Luis Enrique is clear that the new year should follow a similar pattern as the squad and supporters share a belief that another trophy sweep is possible in 2026.
The win over Paris FC means PSG have now taken six victories from their last seven Ligue 1 matches, after a run that previously returned only two wins, three draws and one defeat, a turnaround that has lifted the defending champions into close range of Lens with momentum on their side.
PSG remain active in every domestic cup competition and sit third in the Champions League table with two league-phase fixtures left, leaving Luis Enrique’s squad still competing on four active fronts, while also adding the two international trophies already banked during the current 2025-26 season.
We came back to the Parc with a victory! We saw how difficult this match was, but in my opinion, we had a very good first half with lots of opportunities, the PSG boss said. I think we had lots of chances to scoremore goals. In the second half, it was more difficult, but in the end, we had to be happy because those are three important points.
I hope we win as many trophies in 2026. That's our goal, which is ambitious,of course, but I think that everyone in this team, club, and our supporters are ambitious, too. We want to win trophies and that's what we're going to try to do.

PSG coaches, records and scoring streak
The Paris FC match also marked Luis Enrique’s 100th domestic game as PSG head coach, and the victory was his 74th in that span, a figure surpassed at the same stage for the club only by Thomas Tuchel, who recorded 78 wins from his own first century of competitive domestic fixtures.
PSG extended a long scoring streak in Ligue 1 at Parc des Princes, having now found the net in 41 straight home league matches, producing 106 goals in that period; this current sequence is the longest run of consecutive home scoring games in the club’s top-flight history.
| PSG record | Figure |
|---|---|
| Luis Enrique domestic games | 100 |
| Luis Enrique wins | 74 |
| Thomas Tuchel wins after 100 games | 78 |
| Consecutive home league games scored | 41 |
| Goals in that home run | 106 |
PSG forward line and Desire Doue’s impact
Desire Doue opened the scoring just before half-time against Paris FC and has now registered three goals in the last four Ligue 1 matches, a strong surge in form after failing to score in the nine league appearances immediately before this productive recent sequence for PSG.
The effort against Paris FC was also Desire Doue’s first Ligue 1 goal as a starting player since April 2025, when the France international scored against Le Havre, underlining a growing role in Luis Enrique’s attacking plans as PSG search for goals from several different sources this season.
We knew it was important to win the first match of the year, especially since it was against Paris FC. A derby makes you want to win the match even more, Doue added. We were at home, the fans were there for us, and it's great to bring home the three points.
I think that when you're playing against a low block, it's important to create danger: sometimes with passes, sometimes with dribbling. You really have to alternate and try to do everything you can to the opponent. My goal on the pitch is, of course, to play, perform and enjoy myself. I've always kept these goals in mind. 2025 has come to an end, it's been an incredible year for the club and also a historic one. In 2026, we'll have to go out and win a lot of trophies again.
For PSG, the derby success, the strong league run, the extended scoring streak and Luis Enrique’s win record all support the central target for 2026, as players and staff focus on repeating the multi-trophy haul that defined 2025 while staying firmly in contention across every competition.
