New Delhi, Oct 14: Punjab FC will kick off their 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) campaign against Odisha FC on October 14 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The match will mark the season opener for both sides.
Punjab FC will share the venue with SC Delhi, who recently suffered a 3-2 defeat against Bengaluru FC in their opening ISL fixture. The Shers head into the new season on the back of a productive pre-season campaign, having competed in the 2026-27 IFA Shield alongside prominent Kolkata clubs East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
In contrast, Odisha FC head into their season opener without having participated in any pre-season tournament or friendly matches. This lack of competitive match practice could prove challenging
for the Kalinga Warriors, particularly after making significant changes to their squad by bringing in 12 new players ahead of the upcoming campaign.
With Punjab FC benefiting from regular pre-season action and Odisha FC still looking to build cohesion among their new recruits, the opening encounter could provide an early indication of how both teams are shaping up for the 2026-27 ISL season.
