Former three-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex details her 2025 return and achievements after suffering a devastating knee injury that kept her sidelined for 778 days, expressing pride in her comeback
despite falling short in her return bout.
The 28-year-old Thai superstar was out of action for over two years before finally returning at ONE 173 in November 2025. Stamp faced Japan's Kana Morimoto in an atomweight kickboxing bout at Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
Despite losing via unanimous decision, Stamp viewed the performance as a crucial step in her recovery journey. The Pattaya-based fighter became ONE Championship's first-ever three-sport World Champion before the injury derailed her remarkable career momentum.
Stamp admitted feeling nervous and excited while acknowledging the rustiness that comes from such an extended layoff. The disconnect between her mind knowing what to throw and her body's ability to execute revealed the challenges of returning after 778 days away.
"I felt very nervous and excited. I think I was a bit rusty because I hadn't fought in such a long time. My mind knew what strikes to throw, but my body wouldn't follow . probably due to fatigue as well," Stamp said.
"Even though I didn't win, I'm not disappointed. It was just a warm-up fight, and I'm satisfied with my physical condition to a certain extent. Most importantly, my knee didn't hurt. I'm proud of myself for getting back into the ring. "
The Thai champion's primary concern throughout the fight was her surgically repaired knee. Stamp expressed immense relief and pride that her knee held up without pain, validating the extensive rehabilitation and careful preparation.
Looking ahead, Stamp confirmed her desire to continue competing and specifically mentioned ONE Women's Atomweight MMA World Champion Denice Zamboanga as a challenging and exciting matchup. The Thai star wants to reclaim her position among the atomweight division's elite fighters.
"Of course, I still want to fight. Denice is another opponent who would be a very challenging and exciting match for me," Stamp said.
"Overall, it was a great year. I'm back in the ring where I belong and have achieved all the goals I set for myself - returning to competition, taking my family on an overseas trip, and planning for this year. "
