IND vs AUS 4th T20I: India produced a clinical all-round display to outclass Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20I in Queensland, taking a commanding 2-1 lead in the five-match series. A disciplined
bowling performance from the visitors saw Australia crumble to just 119 while chasing a target of 168.
After being asked to bat first, India posted 167/8 on a tricky surface. Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a fluent 46, holding one end together as wickets fell around him. Captain Suryakumar Yadav chipped in with a brisk 20 off just 10 balls, while Axar Patel (22 off 13) and Shivam Dube (18 off 9) provided valuable late runs to push India past the 160-mark.
In reply, Australia got off to a decent start but soon lost their rhythm as India's bowlers tightened the screws. The hosts suffered a shocking collapse, losing their last seven wickets for just 28 runs. Washington Sundar was the star of the show, claiming three wickets in quick succession to break Australia's resistance.
Axar Patel and Shivam Dube complemented him perfectly with two wickets apiece, while India's fielding and sharp DRS calls, marshalled by skipper Suryakumar, ensured the pressure never eased.
From 91/3, Australia slid to 119 all out, unable to cope with India's relentless bowling attack. The victory not only showcased India's growing confidence under Suryakumar's leadership but also highlighted the team's depth, with contributions coming from all departments.
With the win, India have sealed the series lead ahead of the fifth and final T20I, setting the stage for a strong finish. The visitors will look to maintain their momentum and wrap up the series in style, while Australia will aim to salvage pride in the final contest.
