Kongchai Chanaidonmueang emerged victorious at ONE Friday Fights 140 on 30 January at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, claiming a unanimous decision over Myanmar powerhouse Thway Lin Htet in the strawweight Muay Thai main event.
The 23-year-old competed in his record 16th ONE Friday Fights appearance, extending his status as the most active fighter in the event series whilst showcasing the veteran savvy that has defined his career.
Kongchai tucked his chin and swung looping overhangs at the 22-year-old lethwei specialist in the opening frame before neutralising Thway's aggression by tying him up in the clinch with superior positional work.
The final frame saw Thway's spinning attacks become predictable, giving Kongchai openings to evade and counter
with sharp straight left punches whilst incorporating kicks that showcased his complete striking arsenal.
With the victory, Kongchai nudged his all-striking record to 77-16, cementing his legacy as ONE Friday Fights' most prolific competitor whilst adding another quality victory to his impressive resume.
Sonrak Fairtex bounced back from a previous defeat in spectacular fashion, knocking out Buakhiao Por Paoin with devastating southpaw power at 1:21 of round two in the co-main event at Lumpinee Stadium.
The 28-year-old Myanmar native fighting out of Fairtex Training Center scored two knockdowns in the second frame, closing distance immediately and stunning the 24-year-old with crisp punches throughout.
After landing a left kick, Sonrak threw a laser-sharp left straight that froze Buakhiao before following with another left straight that sent him crashing to the canvas for the emphatic finish.
Moroccan finisher Hamza Rachid demolished Antar Kacem and broke his five-fight winning streak with a dominant technical knockout stoppage at 0:33 of round three in bantamweight Muay Thai action at Lumpinee Stadium.
"The Reaper" scored two knockdowns, testing Kacem's chin with left hooks and right high kicks before landing a devastating right head kick that sent Kacem crashing down for an eight-count.
Rachid improved to 19-2, delivering a statement performance that ended one of bantamweight Muay Thai's hottest streaks whilst announcing his arrival as a serious divisional threat with impressive finishing ability.
