The Women's Premier League has entered its fourth season, ushering in another exciting phase for India's premier women's T20 competition. The 2026 edition kicked off on January 9 and is set to culminate with the final on February 5.
This season features five teams competing for the coveted title: Mumbai Indians Women, Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women, Delhi Capitals Women, Gujarat Giants Women, and UP Warriorz Women. Over the years, the league has emerged as a powerful platform for women's cricket in India, with rising standards, intense rivalries and impressive performances defining each new edition.
Tournament Format
The league follows a double round-robin format, with each team playing eight matches during the league stage. At the end of the group phase, the top-ranked
team will secure direct entry into the final, while the teams finishing second and third will face off in the Eliminator to determine the other finalist.
In total, the tournament will feature 22 league matches, followed by the Eliminator and the Final.
Venues
The 2026 season is being held across two venues. The opening leg, comprising the first 11 matches from January 9 to 17, is taking place at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The tournament then moves to the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara, where the remaining league fixtures, the Eliminator on February 3, and the final on February 5 will be played.
