The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) detailed the injury setback, which Neymar's parent club, Santos, has described as a "minor calf" issue. In an interview last week, Rodrigo Zogaib, the head of medical at Santos, stated that Neymar had "some swelling" but was on schedule to return to fitness within a week. Despite this optimistic timeline, the latest injury has already forced Neymar to miss Santos's last two matches: a 2-2 draw with San Lorenzo on May 20 and a 3-2 defeat to Gremio on May 23. Given his absence from training just days before the Panama clash on May 31, risk management will likely keep him sidelined.
