Anthony Edwards delivered the winning basket for the Minnesota Timberwolves against the San Antonio Spurs, yet still criticised personal form. A late floater with 16.8 seconds remaining sealed a 104-103
home victory, completing a comeback from 19 points down and extending Minnesota’s strong season record.
Edwards finished with a game-high 23 points, but most of the damage came late. Nine of those points arrived in the fourth quarter, where the Minnesota Timberwolves outscored the San Antonio Spurs by 11. Edwards described a difficult shooting night but remained confident about taking control late.
Speaking after the game, Edwards explained the mentality that guided the closing stretch. Edwards said: "I didn't really have it going tonight, if I'm being honest. But like I told them [his team-mates], I don't care what happens in the first three quarters. Fourth quarter, with three or four minutes left.let me see it. Y'all can have 50 points. But in the fourth quarter, four minutes left, for the rest of the game, let me get it. " Those minutes coincided with Minnesota’s first lead of the night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves did not move ahead until the final 2:19 of the fourth quarter. Before that, the San Antonio Spurs controlled long spells of the contest. Minnesota opened the night cold, going almost five minutes without a field goal and struggling to create rhythm offensively.

The slow opening also tested a well-known Minnesota tradition. Home supporters usually remain standing until the Minnesota Timberwolves score. Many fans stayed upright for more than four minutes, only sitting after Edwards finally hit the first basket with 7:22 left in the first quarter against the San Antonio Spurs.
Forward Julius Randle, who contributed 15 points and eight rebounds, reflected on the offensive problems. Randle said the Minnesota Timberwolves missed many open looks against the San Antonio Spurs. Randle said: "We just had to keep battling. We missed a lot of shots. We know we didn't play really well, particularly offensively, forward Julius Randle, who put up 15 points and eight rebounds, said. We had it going in spurts, but we missed a lot of shots. We just had to keep going, keep battling, keep fighting and see what happens. "
Anthony Edwards and Minnesota Timberwolves eye next test after beating San Antonio Spurs
The result moved the Minnesota Timberwolves to 26-14, strengthening their position in the Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs dropped to 27-12 after letting a substantial advantage slip. Minnesota showed resilience, while San Antonio struggled to close out a game once the momentum turned late.
The schedule now presents another challenge for both teams following the Anthony Edwards winner. The San Antonio Spurs face the defending NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in their next outing. The Minnesota Timberwolves travel to play the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, seeking to build on this narrow victory.
