The 2026 French Open gets underway on Sunday, May 24, with Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Mirra Andreeva among the biggest names set to begin their campaigns at Roland Garros.
Court Philippe-Chatrier will host the marquee matches on the opening day. World No. 3 Djokovic takes on Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the night session, while second seed Zverev faces Benjamin Bonzi earlier in the day. Women's eighth seed Andreeva will also be in action against French wildcard Fiona Ferro.
Elsewhere, Fritz opens his tournament against fellow American Nishesh Basavareddy on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, while Czech youngster Jakub Mensik and Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca are among the rising stars scheduled to feature on Day 1.
Novak Djokovic headlines Philippe-Chatrier French Open action
Djokovic
enters Roland Garros looking to add another French Open title to his decorated career despite enduring a mixed clay-court season. The Serbian will face home favourite Mpetshi Perricard in the final match of the day on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
The main stadium will also host Zverev's opening-round clash against Bonzi and Andreeva's encounter with former French Open quarterfinalist Ferro.
