WPL Auction 2026: The build-up to the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 season has intensified with the release of the full auction list, headlined by an elite eight-player Marquee set.
Indian all-rounder
Deepti Sharma, Australia's Alyssa Healy and South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt lead the group, which will be the focal point when teams assemble in New Delhi on November 27 for what promises to be a high-stakes auction.
A total of 277 players have registered for the event, organised into 39 sets, reflecting the widening global reach of the WPL. Among the Marquee players, Renuka Singh Thakur is the only other Indian cricketer to earn a place in the top bracket, joining international stars Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, Amelia Kerr and Meg Lanning.
Renuka has set her base price at INR 40 lakh, while Wolvaardt is listed at INR 30 lakh. The rest of the Marquee group, including Healy and Lanning, enter with the maximum reserve price of INR 50 lakh.
Overall, 19 players have chosen the top base price tier of INR 50 lakh. This group features emerging Australian batter Phoebe Litchfield, India's Harleen Deol, wicketkeeper Uma Chetry, and allrounder Pooja Vastrakar, along with Georgia Wareham, Kranti Goud and Pratika Rawal.
This year's auction pool includes 83 overseas players, 155 uncapped talents, and four players from Associate nations, offering a mix of established names and fresh prospects. Bangladesh's Shorna Akter and West Indies' Jahzara Claxton stand out as the youngest capped players in the draft, adding future-oriented intrigue.
With retentions finalised, the five franchises will collectively have INR 41.1 crore available to shape their squads. Among them, the UP Warriorz hold the most spending power, boasting a hefty INR 14.5 crore purse after retaining only Shweta Sehrawat. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will enter the auction with INR 5.75 crore, while last season's runners-up Delhi Capitals possess INR 5.7 crore.
To make proceedings even more strategic, eight Right To Match (RTM) cards will be in play - with the Warriorz holding four - giving teams one final opportunity to reclaim key players. The stage is set for a competitive and unpredictable auction as franchises seek to build squads capable of challenging for the WPL 2026 crown.
