Jammu and Kashmir scripted a historic milestone by winning their first-ever First Class cricket match against Delhi in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.

saw them winning by 7 wickets, thus paving a new milestone in their emerging cricket history.
This landmark victory came after 57 years of trying and in their 43rd encounter against Delhi, who had dominated the head-to-head record with 37 wins, 4 draws, and one no result previously.
The match took place at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, where Jammu & Kashmir chose to field first. Their disciplined bowling and resilient batting led to this unprecedented success, breaking a long-standing jinx against the powerhouse Delhi side.

Delhi were bowled out for just 211 runs in the first innings. Auqib Nabi starred with a scintillating five-wicket haul while Abid Mushtaq and Vanshaj Sharma also picked up a couple each. In reply, J&K scored 330 runs courtesy of their captain Paras Dogra's century, while Abdul Samad scored a crucial 85 as well. Simarjeet Singh picked up 6 wickets but couldn't prevent conceding a chunkable lead. In the second innings, despite a strong start, Delhi faltered couresty of Vanshaj, who picked up 6 wickets to bowl them out for 277 runs. Chasing a tricky total of 179 runs, Qamran Iqbal batted brilliantly for an unbeaten 133 off just 147 balls, paving the historic win for his team.
The previous matches clearly favored Delhi, but this win signifies a huge breakthrough for the Jammu & Kashmir team, showcasing their growth and determination in Indian domestic cricket.
