Fans filled every available seat several hours before her scheduled match, waving Philippine flags, wearing "Laban Alex" hats, and cheering her powerful groundstrokes, serves, and volleys. Some fans even used FaceTime to share the experience with family and friends who could not attend.

Eala's growing popularity comes after an impressive summer season. She defeated former world No. 1 Iga Swiatek at Wimbledon and later
