Paris Saint-Germain's captain, Marquinhos, expressed his joy after marking his 500th appearance for the club with a victory. PSG triumphed over Tottenham 5-3 in the Champions League at Parc des Princes.
Despite trailing twice, PSG secured the win with Vitinha's hat-trick and goals from Fabian Ruiz and Willian Pacho. Randal Kolo Muani, on loan at Spurs from PSG, scored twice and assisted Richarlison's opener.
PSG has now achieved 13 Champions League victories in 2025, setting a record for the most wins by a team in a single calendar year in the competition. Marquinhos became only the fifth player to reach 500 games with one club from Europe's top five leagues since joining PSG in 2013-14. He joins an elite group that includes Koke (Atletico Madrid), Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich), Luka Modric (Real Madrid), and Jan Oblak (Atletico).
Reflecting on his milestone, Marquinhos attributed his achievement to his competitive spirit. "500 matches is a lot," he said post-match. "It's been a long journey, but it's gone by in a flash. " The defender was pleased to celebrate this landmark with a win.
