Stephen Curry expressed pride in his career longevity after matching an NBA milestone set by Michael Jordan. During the Golden State Warriors' narrow 109-108 win over the San Antonio Spurs, Curry scored
49 points. This victory marked their first in this year's NBA Cup. At 37, Curry equalled Jordan's record of scoring 40 or more points in a game 44 times since turning 30.
Curry celebrated his achievement by holding up a two and a three with his fingers, honouring Jordan, who famously wore number 23. Reflecting on his performance, Curry said, "I threw it up backward though. That's the second time I've done that. But that's pretty cool just from an individual accomplishment perspective. Longevity is something I pride myself on. "
Curry also shared insights into a pre-game talk by head coach Steve Kerr. Kerr, who played with Jordan at the Chicago Bulls, rarely discusses those days. However, he drew parallels between team dynamics and a band, highlighting roles like lead singers and stagehands. Kerr humorously placed himself just above the person plugging in speakers.
The Warriors currently hold an 8-6 record for the 2025-26 season. Their next challenge is against the New Orleans Pelicans, who are at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

The Warriors' victory against the Spurs was not only crucial for their NBA Cup campaign but also highlighted Curry's enduring impact on the game. His ability to perform consistently at such a high level underscores his commitment to excellence and longevity in professional basketball.
As they prepare for their upcoming match against the Pelicans, Curry and his teammates aim to build on their recent success and improve their standing in the league. The team's focus remains on working together effectively and drawing inspiration from each other's strengths to achieve their goals this season.
