Khadija Shaw's remarkable performance propelled Manchester City to a commanding 6-1 triumph over Aston Villa, extending their lead in the Women's Super League by six points. Shaw netted four goals, marking
her 100th for City across all competitions. Aoba Fujino and Vivianne Miedema also found the net. The match began quietly until Shaw broke through in the 37th minute, converting Miedema's assist.
Just before halftime, Shaw doubled City's advantage with a well-placed shot past Sabrina D'Angelo. In the second half, she hit the post with a curling effort. Fujino scored City's third goal after an hour, again assisted by Miedema. Lucy Parker responded for Villa, heading past Ayaka Yamashita to reduce the deficit.
Miedema then restored City's three-goal lead with a close-range finish. Shaw completed her hat-trick in the 84th minute with an easy tap-in and added another in stoppage time from Grace Clinton's cross, securing City's tenth consecutive win.
At the opposite end of the table, Liverpool remains winless at the bottom despite rallying to draw 2-2 against West Ham. Meanwhile, City continues to dominate under Andree Jeglertz's guidance, maintaining control halfway through the season.

Shaw has now scored 103 goals for City in 120 appearances across all competitions, with 74 goals in the WSL and 12 this season alone. Her influence was evident as she took six shots, five on target, contributing significantly to City's expected goals (xG) total of 3.92.
In contrast, Villa managed an xG of just 1.18 and have yet to defeat City away from home in six attempts (D1 L5). Shaw's leadership on the field is undeniable as she continues to set high standards for her team.
