Middlesbrough Football Club has confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding the departure of their head coach, Rob Edwards. Edwards did not participate in training
on Friday and also skipped the pre-match media conference. Middlesbrough, currently fourth in the Championship, will face Birmingham City on Saturday without Edwards in charge.
Edwards, who joined Middlesbrough in June, has been granted permission to discuss the head coach position at Wolves. A club statement revealed that although they initially declined Wolves' approach due to Edwards' recent three-year contract with them, they have now agreed to let him speak with Wolves.

Since joining Boro in June, Edwards has managed 14 Championship games. Under his leadership, the team won seven matches and lost only two. Despite this success, he expressed interest in discussing the vacant head coach role at Wolves.
The decision to allow discussions followed conversations with Edwards where it became clear he was keen on exploring opportunities at Wolves. Middlesbrough's management expressed disappointment but respected his decision.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently struggling at the bottom of the Premier League table. They have secured just two points so far and are set to play against Chelsea later on Saturday. The club is actively seeking a new head coach to improve their performance.
Middlesbrough's next match against Birmingham City will proceed without Edwards on the sidelines. The club is focused on maintaining their strong position in the Championship as they navigate this transition period.
The situation highlights the challenges clubs face when balancing contractual commitments with individual career aspirations. As both clubs work through this transition, fans await further developments regarding Edwards' potential move to Wolves.
