The latest NBA results delivered major storylines, including a fresh concern for the Golden State Warriors after Jonathan Kuminga left with an injury. The Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers all claimed wins, while standout efforts from Stephen Curry, Naji Marshall, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid shaped a dramatic night across the league.
The Warriors’ defeat against the Mavericks featured several milestones and setbacks. Curry poured in 38 points and went 8 of 15 from long range, and the eighth attempt represented the 10,000th three-point shot of Curry’s career. Despite that shooting display, Golden State slipped to 25-21, while the Mavericks improved to 19-26 with a fourth straight victory.
Kuminga’s return to the rotation
was cut short when the forward hurt a left ankle and knee during Golden State’s 123-115 loss to Dallas. Kuminga had 10 points in nine minutes before landing awkwardly on a drive to the rim. Warriors coach Steve Kerr stated that Kuminga would undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the joint damage.
That setback arrived only days after reports that Kuminga had requested a trade. Golden State, however, expected a larger on-court role for Kuminga following Jimmy Butler’s season-ending knee injury. Since Butler went down, the Warriors are 0-2. Butler’s absence opened space in the rotation, and Kuminga had just started to capitalise before the latest injury concern.
Kuminga’s first game back after the long bench spell came in a 145-127 defeat to the Toronto Raptors. In that match, Kuminga delivered 20 points in 21 minutes off the bench, ending a stretch of 16 straight games in which Kerr did not use the forward. The planned expanded role now depends on medical results from the scheduled MRI scan.
The Mavericks rode hot shooting and balanced play to beat Golden State. Naji Marshall tied a season high with 30 points, hitting 10 of 12 shots, and added nine assists plus seven rebounds. Rookie Cooper Flagg continued a promising run, contributing 21 points and a career-best 11 rebounds in just the second game back from a left ankle sprain.

The Los Angeles Clippers extended a strong stretch of form by edging the Los Angeles Lakers 112-104. The Clippers moved to 20-24 and have now taken 14 of their last 17 games. The Lakers dropped to 26-17 after a spirited late push fell short against their city rivals at the end of a volatile contest.
For much of the third quarter, the Clippers appeared in full control, building a 26-point advantage. The margin still sat at 14 during the fourth before the Lakers surged back. A Luka Doni three-pointer cut the deficit to two with 5:56 remaining, but James Harden immediately answered from deep, sparking a vital 10-0 sequence that restored a 103-91 lead.
The Lakers responded again with an 11-2 run, trimming the score to 105-102 before the Clippers finally closed the door. Ivica Zubac’s reverse dunk and a John Collins three-pointer sealed the result. Harden and Zubac each finished with 18 points, with Zubac also matching a season best with 19 rebounds, while Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 24 points in 26 minutes after a left knee contusion absence.

Doni produced 32 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in another strong all-round showing for the Lakers. LeBron James supplied 23 points alongside six assists and five rebounds. Despite those efforts, the Clippers’ depth and timely shooting proved decisive, reinforcing their recent surge and leaving the Lakers searching for answers after slipping behind early.
Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid lift 76ers in OT among NBA results
The Philadelphia 76ers needed overtime to defeat the Houston Rockets 128-122, closing a six-game homestand with a 3-3 record. Tyrese Maxey scored 36 points and made several late plays, while Joel Embiid posted a first triple-double of the season, helping the 76ers move to 24-19 after another high-scoring battle.
Maxey delivered 11 points across the final four minutes of regulation to extend the contest. In overtime, Maxey added six more, including the last four points of the game and a running dunk in the closing moments. Embiid set up that final basket and finished with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, while Maxey also produced 10 assists.
Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 26 points for Philadelphia, giving the hosts an extra scoring option on the wing. Houston slipped to 26-16 and is now 1-5 in overtime games this season. Kevin Durant had 36 points on 13-of-21 shooting but committed eight of the Rockets’ 17 turnovers during a night of mixed fortunes.
Durant also appeared to make a decisive defensive play late in regulation when credited with a block on Maxey’s driving layup attempt with 13.2 seconds left, a shot that would have put Philadelphia ahead. Replays showed the play involved goaltending, yet the 76ers could not challenge because of an inadvertent whistle, leaving the call to stand despite the evidence.
Across the three games, injuries, comebacks and individual displays shaped the NBA schedule, with Kuminga’s status now a key concern for Golden State. The Mavericks, Clippers and 76ers all strengthened their positions, while the Lakers, Rockets and Warriors faced new questions following defeats that highlighted issues at both ends of the floor.
