Juventus closed their year with a 2-0 victory at Pisa, yet Luciano Spalletti stressed that performance levels must rise. Second-half goals from Pierre Kalulu and Kenan Yildiz sealed the points, but Pisa hit
the frame of the goal twice and stretched Juventus for long spells, leaving Spalletti highlighting flaws rather than celebrating statistics.
The result continues a strong run, with Juventus now on four straight wins in all competitions and three in Serie A. It is also the first time since September-October 2024 that Juventus have claimed successive away victories in the same season across all tournaments, underlining clear progress since Spalletti took charge.
Spalletti’s side have collected 17 points from eight matches with the current head coach, with a record of five wins, two draws and one defeat. That return averages 2.1 points per match. Before Spalletti arrived, Juventus had earned 15 points from nine games, with four wins, three draws and two losses, at a reduced rate of 1.7 points per game.
Despite those numbers, Spalletti criticised key phases of the performance against Pisa and accepted Juventus benefited from several escapes. Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia: "Our tempo was slow, the last 6-7 minutes and first 6-7 minutes of the second half were bad, as Pisa caused problems with their intensity and we were fortunate in those situations. " Pisa’s aggressive approach unsettled Juventus before the visitors took control.
Pisa’s display echoed their performance against Inter, when Pisa also caused problems for long periods. Spalletti said: "I thought Pisa played very well and it was similar to their defeat against Inter, who suffered here for 70 minutes. Pisa are not fortunate at the moment. " On another day, Pisa’s two efforts against the woodwork could have altered the outcome.
Spalletti highlighted a clear contrast between the first and second halves, pointing to greater sharpness after the interval. "In the second half, we had more quality, were more inventive, [Edon] Zhegrova and [Jonathan] David did well, giving us more quality in the final third. We were able to score and at that moment of the game I felt it was deserved, as we were creating spaces in the box. We ought to do better and we need to do better. "
Spalletti also reflected on Juventus’ broader mentality and standards during matches like this. "Our problem is that we are a strong team, but weve got to prove it every time we step onto the pitch, and we were below par in too many ways during the first half. " The coach underlined that consistency and intensity are still lacking, despite the positive sequence of results.

For Juventus, the match at Pisa extends a productive spell and improves their position in Serie A and across competitions, yet Spalletti’s comments underline that the coaching staff remain focused on performance details. Juventus are collecting points at a higher rate under Spalletti, but the head coach clearly expects more control and consistency in future fixtures.
